Job Overview

Position: Quality Assurance Leader

Location: Morgan City, LA

Role Summary: The Quality Assurance Leader is tasked with managing the quality operations of a construction initiative, ensuring adherence to both internal protocols and external regulations. This role encompasses the administration of quality assurance, quality control, and project testing initiatives, crafting and developing program documentation, executing corrective measures, and assessing the efficacy of implemented solutions. The position requires consistent interaction with project suppliers, clients, and internal teams concerning quality matters, as well as leading the quality team for the project.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct the quality operations of a construction initiative.
  • Oversee, manage, and sustain quality assurance, quality control, and project testing initiatives.
  • Guarantee compliance with both internal protocols and external regulations.
  • Research, formulate, and produce program documentation to support project goals.
  • Detect and implement corrective measures to resolve product or service quality challenges.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.
  • Maintain regular communication with project suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding quality operations.
  • Lead the quality team to ensure tasks are executed in alignment with established objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least eight (8) years of cumulative experience in quality management, project management, project engineering, or construction management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in managing quality systems.
  • Familiarity with principles of quality control and assurance.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards such as USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and others.
  • Advanced skills in reading blueprints.
  • Capability to supervise and interpret standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in welding and/or non-destructive testing (NDT) is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and control principles.
  • Expertise in developing and executing quality programs and corrective actions.
  • Advanced skills in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Robust problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (USCG, ABS, SOLAS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
