Stroke Care Physician Assistant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to enhance our Stroke & Neurointervention unit.
This specialized team comprises four physicians, including two experts in neurointerventional procedures aimed at managing large vessel occlusion strokes. We require a group of four (4) inpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to collaborate closely with our physicians on diverse responsibilities within the Stroke Service:
- Managing ICU and surgical patients, responding to urgent Stroke alerts, and caring for patients on the general floor
- Delivering prompt care for patients with suspected strokes during daytime hours
- Interpreting neuroimaging studies such as CT scans and MRIs, along with evaluating laboratory results
- The initial training phase includes five 8-hour shifts, transitioning to a schedule of four 10-hour shifts
Essential Qualifications:
Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances
For Physician Assistants:
- Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program
- Preferably holding a BS or MS degree
- Prior clinical experience is advantageous
- Current state PA license certified by NCCPA is mandatory
- CPR certification is required
- Act 34 Clearance is essential
For Nurse Practitioners:
- Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program
- BSN or MSN is preferred
- Experience in professional nursing or as a nurse practitioner is beneficial
- Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required
- National certification and eligibility for licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing
- CPR certification and Act 34 Clearance are necessary
