Job Summary

About GE Aviation:

GE Aviation is a leading manufacturer of advanced jet engines, components, and integrated systems that power commercial and military aircraft. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Vandalia facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Work with outside contractors to upgrade production lines with new equipment and technology.
  • Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
  • Document work schedule and tasks completed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ Years Industrial Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Experience
  • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and electrical systems
  • Mechanical systems knowledge, including gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings
  • Electricity and electrical systems knowledge, including 480v 3 phase and 24v control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc.
  • Professional technical training or certificate program in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field.
  • Pneumatics/air compression knowledge, including solenoids, valves, cylinders, motor brakes, and reading/troubleshooting.
  • Preventative maintenance knowledge, including computerized preventative charts/data.
  • Schematics knowledge, including electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays.
  • Product manuals knowledge, including reading and applying knowledge to make repairs.
  • Reading mechanical drawings knowledge, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Electrical systems knowledge, including starters, fuses, contacts, relays.
  • HVAC systems knowledge.
  • Material fabrication and welding skills.
  • Basic rigging knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SERVO, including intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals.
  • Frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling.
  • Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $25.00 per hour.
  • 2nd Shift hours with a 6% shift differential.
