Job Summary

The Shop Technician plays a vital role in overseeing the workflow and repair processes of industrial battery and charger products efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct battery repairs, including acid adjustments, load testing, cell replacements, cable repairs, and maintenance of connectors and contact tips.
  • Gain proficiency in the electrical operation of SCR, Ferroresonant, and High Frequency charging technologies, providing assistance with repairs as necessary.
  • Manage the pick-up and delivery of products.
  • Coordinate the collection, bundling, and shipping of scrap batteries.
  • Maintain company vehicles utilized for job assignments.
  • Ensure a clean and organized warehouse, assist with inventory management, and perform minor facility repairs as required.
  • Support Field Service Technicians during preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Occasionally travel to other branches or job sites to assist with product installations, removals, or repairs (some overnight travel may be necessary).
  • Establish strong relationships with customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Performance Metrics:

• A scorecard reflecting performance in safety, efficiency, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.

• High degree of time management skills, achieving over 90% billable time to customers.

• Management observations regarding attitude, diligence, teamwork, and willingness to learn new skills.

• Other key metrics set by Concentric leadership, resulting in positive impacts for customers and the company.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree from an accredited two-year college or significant equivalent experience is preferred.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Must successfully pass a drug test; technicians are subject to random drug testing.

• Familiarity with basic AC and DC electrical/electronic theory is essential.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required.

• Ability to organize work independently with minimal supervision.

• Capability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and across remote offices.

• Proficient in articulating ideas clearly (both written and verbal) to internal and external customers, while actively listening to customer needs.

• Ability to foster and maintain strong workplace relationships with a focus on customer satisfaction.

• Willingness to work collaboratively with other departments for the overall benefit of the organization.

• Adaptability to a fast-paced and changing environment.

• Experience in a material handling environment is preferred but not mandatory.

• Occasional travel within the designated territory is expected, with most nights spent at home.

• A valid driver's license is required; a CDL is a plus but not mandatory.

• Willingness to work occasional overtime.
