Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide diagnostic and treatment interventions to assigned patients to improve their speech, language, and cognitive skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' communication, articulation, physical, cognitive, breathing, and swallowing status to determine their current level of functioning.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that involve patients, families, and social support systems.
  • Provide skilled interventions to reach achievable goals, coordinate and collaborate on treatment options, and advocate for patients' social support systems.
  • Provide timely and complete documentation following department guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate therapy activities with other healthcare disciplines and participate in quality and performance improvement activities within the department.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in speech pathology and completion of speech pathology patient training through Masters speech pathology program.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (Washington) within 5 months of hire.
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (Oregon) within 5 months of hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate required at hire from American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a speech pathologist seeing an outpatient caseload.
  • Experience with treating dysphagic patients.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat patients with dysphagia.
  • Ability to scope patients during a fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.
