Electrical Design Engineer Role

At Carollo Engineers, we are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for performing detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater treatment facilities with minimal supervision. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our designs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform load calculations, detailed conduit routing, motor control center and switchgear design, and specification generation
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement electrical design strategies

Requirements

  • 6 to 12 years of experience working in electrical engineering
  • PE registration required
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with power system applications, including calculation of available short circuit current, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor
  • Field investigative and start-up experience
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 820, and NESC
  • Familiarity with the IEEE color book series
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
  • Ability to interact positively with clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering
