About the Role

Mead Lumber is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the store, thank each customer as they exit, and provide assistance with purchases and returns.
  • Transaction Processing: Accurately and efficiently ring up sales on registers, process cash, credit card, and charge transactions, and issue proper receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Checkout Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking merchandise and supplies as needed.
  • Supporting Store Management and Team Associates: Assist store management and team associates with various tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Previous Cashier Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail sales environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic Computer and Math Skills: Basic computer and math skills are required, including the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point of sale system.
  • Communication and Teamwork Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required, including the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
