Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic testing and care to patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pulmonary function tests and procedures, including spirometry, diffusion capacity, and body plethysmography.
  • Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, as well as capillary sampling for hemoglobin analysis.
  • Perform pulse oximetry with exercise tests, including oxygen determination studies for home oxygen therapy.
  • Assist physicians during bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy, and tracheostomy tube changes.
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway management.
  • Maintain pulmonary function equipment and ensure quality control.
  • Verify patient registration information and identification during appointment check-in.
  • Proficiently use Powerchart and Breeze software.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a JRCRTE Education Accreditation Committee-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Licensure in the State of Delaware required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technician (CPFT) and Registered Pulmonary Function Technician (RPFT) preferred.
  • Current AARC Member preferred.
