Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Center For Discovery. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nutrition services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Meal Plans: Meet with each patient on a weekly basis to create and manage personalized dietary plans, including conducting weekly calorie counts.
  • Conduct Dietary Intake Assessments: Complete thorough dietary intake assessments on admission to ensure accurate and effective treatment planning.
  • Document Patient Progress: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of each client's progress throughout their treatment experience, reflecting goals and objectives within their treatment plan.
  • Facilitate Nutrition Groups: Lead nutrition groups tailored to adult and adolescent age groups, promoting education and support.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Team: Communicate effectively with referring and outpatient treatment teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Supervise Diet Techs: Oversee Diet Techs to ensure supportive mealtimes and monitoring of supplementation.
  • Enforce Dietary Program: Implement and enforce dietary program standards, advising clients on food choices and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Medical Consequences and Complications: Demonstrate understanding of medical consequences of eating disorders, re-feeding hazards, and complications, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
  • Family Sessions and Education: Facilitate family sessions and education, including therapeutic meals, as needed.
  • Communication with Medical Team: Communicate with medical doctor and psychiatrist, as needed, regarding medical problems requiring dietary intervention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Related Field: Completed accredited dietetic internship and registered/certified in the appropriate state.
  • Experience in Dietary Counseling: Preferred one year of experience in dietary counseling or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Nutrition and Dietary Interventions: Thorough knowledge of nutrition and dietary interventions in the mental health field.
