Job Title: LPN Pediatric Behavioral Health Hospital

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The successful candidate will provide essential nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, working under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Assist with the assessment of patients' physical and mental health, monitor and record vital signs, behavioral changes, and patient responses to treatment, and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Therapeutic Environment: Create a supportive and structured environment that promotes healing, engage patients in therapeutic activities, and monitor their interactions to promote social skills and coping strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with RNs, physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress, concerns, and treatment modifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records, and complete incident reports and document changes in behavior, mood, or condition.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment plans, and coping techniques, and provide resources and support for transitioning to outpatient services as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license in [State] or compact license.
  • Previous experience in mental health or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Environment:

  • Inpatient treatment units in a behavioral health hospital.
