Job Overview:

The Vehicle Maintenance Specialist is responsible for executing repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on the company’s fleet, which includes diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and cars. This role ensures that all vehicles and equipment are maintained in compliance with DOT and other regulatory standards to guarantee safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance
  • Test equipment to confirm proper operation and performance
  • Respond to service requests
  • Transport vehicles as needed
  • Complete necessary documentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in automotive mechanics and heavy equipment repair preferred
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License & Clean Motor Vehicle Record preferred
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is a plus
  • Must provide own automotive hand tools
  • Basic computer proficiency required
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical skills
  • Familiarity with vehicle repair and maintenance methods and equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull over 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as reaching, squatting, kneeling, and bending
