Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Onsite in Woburn, MA

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to provide drafting/design support for radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. The ideal candidate will have experience with computer-generated methods and drawing standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and create CAD models of parts and assemblies for new product development.
  • Generate documentation, drawings, and layouts to support product design and development.
  • Develop and implement Engineering Change Orders to maintain engineering documentation.
  • Update existing product documentation with drawing changes.
  • Create supporting illustrations and documentation for product assembly fixtures, procedures, and proposals.
  • Perform Document Control functions, including distributing Engineering Change Orders and Controlled Prints, and recalling obsolete documents.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to support documentation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year minimum trade or technical school specializing in Design and Drafting.
  • Working knowledge of CAD design software (Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) or similar CAD applications.
  • Strong spatial reasoning skills for three-dimensional objects and assemblies.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and filing skills.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices.
  • Working knowledge of Mil Specification and Standards.
  • US Citizenship required.

Preferred:

  • Strong electrical and mechanical design concept skills, with experience in machined enclosures for electronics.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customers.
  • Associates Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Background in defense industry.
