Job Summary

The School of Education at Maryville University is seeking part-time faculty members to supervise teacher candidates in field placements as part of our Teacher Preparation Program. Qualified applicants will be placed in the departmental pool and will be contacted as openings become available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend professional development and training sessions for University Supervisors as indicated by the School of Education
  • Provide constructive support and suggestions to assist each teacher candidate's professional growth
  • Observe, coach, and evaluate teacher candidates' performance in student teaching/practicums
  • Conduct site visits for observations, coaching, and evaluation
  • Complete all School of Education required documentation by indicated deadlines
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education from a regionally accredited institution
  • Current Missouri Teaching Certification
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience in an urban or suburban public school settings in relevant certification areas
  • Knowledge of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teacher Standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
