About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Intake Specialist to join our team at AdventHealth GlenOaks Hospital. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Unit, you will play a critical role in conducting interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions
  • Provide admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients on the Behavioral Health Unit and Emergency Department
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from individuals seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services
  • Admit patients to the hospital and register outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility
  • Document calls and related admission information
  • Review all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies
  • May staff a crisis hotline and cover other Great Lakes Region hospitals remotely
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • At least one year of experience in intake or inpatient psychiatry
