Purchasing Clerk Job Overview:
As a Purchasing Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the procurement process within our organization.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, with flexible hours available: 8:30 AM - 5 PM, 7 AM - 3:30 PM, or 8 AM - 4 PM.
Compensation:
Competitive pay ranging from $22 to $24 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential administrative and clerical assistance to the purchasing department.
- Prepare and type various documents, including reports and memoranda.
- Conduct research on suppliers, gathering pricing, specifications, and relevant data regarding products and services.
- Manage vendor interactions to ensure alignment with production requirements.
- Generate and process purchase orders based on inventory assessments or specific requests.
- Oversee and monitor the status of incoming orders.
- Facilitate communication between departments regarding the status of incoming materials.
- Assist in reconciling inventory counts for materials.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system (Syspro).
- Support the purchasing manager with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in computer applications, especially spreadsheet software and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational capabilities.
- Effective time management skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous experience in supply chain or procurement is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a clerical support position within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift operation experience or certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
