Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete billing cycle for assigned accounts, including Charge review, Payment posting, Front end Edits, Payer Rejects, Denials, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Interpret and process Explanations of Benefits accurately.
  • Conduct thorough research on claims and appeal any denied claims effectively.
  • Resubmit corrected claims to optimize reimbursement opportunities.
  • Handle Accounts Receivable diligently and pursue outstanding balances.
  • Adhere to established billing processes and protocols.
  • Utilize carrier websites for claim status and eligibility inquiries.
  • Bill patients for their responsible portions, clearly communicating information regarding copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
  • Experience with Allscripts is preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience with a solid understanding of insurance processes, including CPT and diagnostic coding.
  • Knowledge of infusion billing is advantageous.
  • Experience with prior authorizations and referrals.
  • Ability to manage specialty billing tasks.
  • Strong comprehension of payer requirements and medical billing regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must demonstrate a friendly and professional demeanor with outstanding communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and organizational capabilities are required.
  • Ability to multitask and conduct research effectively.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
