Role Summary:
The Environmental Services Aide is responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, auxiliary spaces, and other designated areas within the healthcare facility, adhering to established cleaning protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes appropriate cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Efficiently cleans and prepares patient rooms, beds, stretchers, and other assigned areas.
- Conducts scrubbing, mopping, and buffing of floors.
- Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Cleans interior glass windows, woodwork, restrooms, and other sanitary facilities.
- Maintains cleanliness in kitchen areas and dining spaces.
- Disposes of waste in designated trash receptacles.
- Follows safe and effective cleaning practices.
- Adheres to sanitation and safety protocols as required.
- Participates in a minimum of 85% of monthly staff meetings.
- Keeps assigned areas orderly, clean, and hygienic.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Ability to walk for extended periods (up to 6-7 hours daily), stand for short durations (1-2 hours), and perform tasks involving lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 lbs. Requires frequent reaching and occasional bending, stooping, and crouching. Adequate hearing and vision are necessary for effective communication and task execution.
Educational Background:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience in housekeeping within a healthcare or institutional environment is advantageous, ideally ranging from three to six months.
