About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Transportation Planner.

This position will play a critical role in supporting the development and improvement of sustainable transportation infrastructure, focusing on complete streets standards, policies, and processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with various functional units across the Department to integrate complete streets into Departmental policies and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with external partners through the California Walk and Bike Technical Advisory Committee (CWBTAC) to provide strategic input and technical guidance on Caltrans' complete streets and active transportation efforts.
  • Leading bi-annual updates to the Department's Complete Streets Action Plan (CSAP) and assisting with tracking and reporting efforts associated with the plan.
  • Developing and leading the new externally-facing Complete Streets Hub, a central repository for complete streets resources across the department.
