Job Summary

Become part of a dynamic organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of diverse communities. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will work collaboratively with physicians to deliver high-quality patient care, making medical diagnoses, planning, and dispensing medical treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in surgical procedures, prepping and draping patients, and performing intraoperative surgical assistance.
  • Independently perform clinical duties, including reviewing patient charts, OR procedures, and providing input to patient information management systems.
  • Prescribe medications as outlined in departmental procedures and protocols, and as approved by the NC Joint Committee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as coordinating scheduling of tests, collaborating with physicians, house staff, and nurses in developing protocols, and managing protocols.
  • Participate in educational and research activities, assist in orientation and instruction of medical students and house staff, and assess educational needs of patients.
  • Plan patient care, including entire courses of treatment, ensuring continuity of care, and planning for discharge.
  • Obtain medical history, perform physical examinations, perform diagnostic tests, and provide patient care, including scheduling surgical procedures, assisting in OR, inducing IV infusions, obtaining lab studies and specimens, managing wound care, and directing equipment use.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department.
  • DEA.
