Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain programs and systems to shift maintenance and operation of site facilities to a proactive, data-driven, and condition-based asset management approach.
  • Act as a change agent in the unit assigned, supported by the Corporate R&M Leader.
  • Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance personnel, lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses, and monitor KPI data for early identification and resolution of reliability issues.
  • Perform failure mode and effect analysis to develop equipment maintenance plans, including equipment checks and Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM).
  • Assess and develop capability of mechanics on their role in reliability improvement.
  • Define Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) trigger points and implement corrective and improvement plans.
  • Perform and document equipment criticality analysis.
  • Analyze data using reliability analysis tools to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Lead reliability improvement teams and perform or arrange for physical failure analysis.
  • Work with plant engineering, purchasing, and plant's stores organizations to develop and execute Design for Reliability principles for Capital projects.
  • Assess effectiveness of QA practices.
  • Work with plant's inspector group to ensure appropriate inspection technologies are being used and assessing quality of inspection plans.
  • Review inspection reports and analyze data to determine fitness for service, quality of inspection, and appropriate inspection interval.
  • Use Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies to determine appropriate inspection methodologies and intervals.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering degree with 5-10 years of functional chemical industry experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment.
  • Knowledge of API, ASME, and ISO industry standards for fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Capable of writing mechanical design packages for highly hazardous chemical processes.
  • Basic understanding of Reliability tools and techniques, including Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Predictive techniques for fixed, rotating, power distribution equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Must have very good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and all basic software.
  • Must have demonstrated team building and influence/negotiation skills.
EHS Responsibilities
  • Communicates, promotes, and personally demonstrates Safety/Health as #1 priority.
  • Participation in risk assessment audits as applicable.
  • Understand PQ Principles and how they are implemented in the site organization, rules, and procedures.
  • Completes HSE training requirements identified for the job in a timely manner.
