Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Technician to join our team at First Solar. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems for our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the installation and maintenance of electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Assist with the coordination of new equipment installation and implementation
  • Maintain and update manufacturing process tool electrical drawings
  • Implement new software changes and upgrades as specified by the Controls Engineering Department
  • Identify, research, and document solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering preferred
  • Internal applicants: Please note that if selected for the position, there may be a waiting period of 2-6 months when transitioning to this role
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to interpret data and make reasonable conclusions to assist in trouble-shooting process
  • Good understanding of reading electrical/mechanical drawings and suggesting modifications as required
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming and troubleshooting of Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC's
  • Good understanding of programming and troubleshooting of Rockwell Automation Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) utilizing FactoryTalk View ME
Working Conditions
  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day
  • Will climb stairs on a frequent basis
  • Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis
