About the Role:

">

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Physical Therapy Team. As an integral member of our team, you will play a vital role in helping patients develop, recover, and improve their skills in areas affected by mental, emotional, or physical disabilities.

">

Your Responsibilities:

">
  • ">
  • You will plan and administer medically prescribed occupational therapy, taking into account each patient's unique goals, needs, and circumstances.">
  • You will assess and interpret evaluations and test results, determining treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.">
  • You will help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning, adjusting to disabilities and promoting maximum independence.">
  • You will implement programs involving manual arts and crafts, functional, pre-vocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, fostering activities of daily living.">
  • You will select and construct therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.">
  • You will prepare patients for return to employment by consulting with employers, determining potential employee difficulties, retraining employees, and helping employers understand necessary physical and job accommodations.">
  • You will evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress, recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.">
  • You will complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers.">
  • You will assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment, and recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.">
  • You will document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.">
  • You will maintain patient confidence and protect hospital operations by keeping information confidential.">
  • You will maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.">
  • You will protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.">
  • You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.">
  • You will develop occupational therapy staff by providing information and developing and conducting in-service training programs.">
  • You will comply with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.">
  • You will contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.">
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.">
  • A current Wisconsin occupational therapist license or eligibility for one.">
  • A current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR certificate.">
