Job Summary

The Echo Technologist II is a skilled professional who works as a fully oriented/trained partner on the healthcare team. This role requires consistent demonstration of safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.

The successful candidate will exhibit UPHS organizational behavioral competencies, reflecting our mission and embedded in the professional practice competency domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform highly skilled, specialized non-invasive tests to diagnose cardiological abnormalities and conduct M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler echocardiogram, and color flow Doppler studies.
  • Work with physicians to notify attending of EKG changes or Doppler/echo findings requiring immediate action.
  • Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms and perform exercise stress and pharmacologic stress echocardiograms.
  • Provide accurate analysis and evaluation of all studies for review by interpreting physicians.
  • Comply with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Requirements
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of clinical experience as a cardiac sonographer.
