Job Overview

The Jacobson Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our catastrophe management team, you will play a critical role in providing support to our high net worth homeowners business and working on broader projects within the corporate enterprise risk management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain catastrophe models to assess risk and provide insights to senior management.
  • Produce modeled catastrophe bond (CAT) analysis to inform property pricing, portfolio optimization, and aggregation management.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to ensure accurate reporting of data for modeling.
  • Work with the actuarial team to develop appropriate CAT loads for rate reviews.
  • Develop estimates of ultimate CAT losses post events and review the impact of historical or probable CAT events on the book of business.
  • Perform comparison studies on CAT performance relative to peers following CAT events.
  • Build quarterly catastrophe modeling and aggregation reports for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Develop and implement improved catastrophe reporting processes.
  • Assist in the completion of rating agency and regulatory returns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years of catastrophe modeling work experience.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of catastrophe modeling techniques; strong RMS RiskLink knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
