About the Opportunity

Join our team at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where you can contribute to groundbreaking research in precision nutrition and make a meaningful impact on human health.

The Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS) and the Department of Food Science invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Foods for Precision Nutrition.

We seek talented individuals with a proven track record of translating scientific discoveries into practical solutions for real-world problems. Ideal candidates will have experience working in multidisciplinary teams and a passion for mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers.

As a member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned experts in food science, nutrition, and related fields. You will also have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources, including the IALS Core Facilities.

Estimated salary: $90,000 - $140,000 per year, based on national averages and location.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Food Science or a related field. We prefer candidates with postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record.

A successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct research in precision nutrition and translate scientific findings into practical solutions.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of health and nutrition.
  • Mentor students and postdoctoral researchers in research projects.
  • Collaborate with faculty members from various departments and institutes.
