Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a CT Technologist II, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Identification: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety.
  • CT Scans: Obtain images per protocols, manipulate images according to protocols, and perform multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of image data.
  • Contrast: Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, establish intravenous lines, and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Image Transfer: Maintain thorough understanding of PACS, transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS, and verify and segment images at the QC station.
  • Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule creating a consistent workflow, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
  • Requires advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and must maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of CT scanning with Stroke, Procedure, and Cardiac experience.
  • Prefer Siemens trained.

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
