We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at The Chesapeake in Newport News, Virginia. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the full scope of equipment maintenance across our campus, including day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance, and planned projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine general maintenance tasks
- Work closely with team members and residents to handle concerns as requested
- Diagnose and assess multiple types of maintenance needs, including complex problems and failures
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Work under pressure, in confined spaces, in wet environments, and with electrical equipment and circuits
- Read and interpret blueprints
- COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption required
- High School diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
