Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. in an evening shift position. The successful candidate will assist staff members with and contribute to the implementation of the total resident/patient plan of care, which includes activities of daily living, education, recreation, and transportation in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of the nursing department.

The Certified Nurse Assistant will be directly responsible to the RN/LPN team leader and will maintain resident/patient privacy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening skills, be able to take initial vital signs, and provide weights to nursing staff in a timely manner. They will also be responsible for reporting changes in vital signs or measurements promptly to the Supervisor/Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all resident/patient routine activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, ambulating, and skin care.
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills to provide support for resident/patient needs.
  • Take initial vital signs and provide weights to nursing staff in a timely manner.
  • Report changes in vital signs or measurements promptly to the Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
  • Follow procedures for Universal Precautions.
  • Monitor and record resident/patient intake and output in accordance with unit standards or physician orders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident/patient related issues and support resident/patient rights.
  • Maintain a productive working relationship with healthcare team members.
  • Be a team player, courteous, diplomatic, and tactful when interacting with others.
Requirements:
  • Must hold an active Maine C.N.A License.
  • Ability to empathize with residents, patients, and families.
  • Able to remain objective in difficult circumstances.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when needed.
  • Seek help and assist in developing solutions for problems.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The shift is 2:30p-11p with alternating weekends. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
