Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical/Lab Nursing Instructor to join our team at Wayne Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing laboratory and clinical instruction for Associate Degree and Practical Nursing students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach laboratory and clinical sessions to nursing students in programs accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  • Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate clinical activities to ensure high-quality learning experiences for students.
  • Develop instructional plans and materials to support student learning and success.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and faculty.
  • Review and request new materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as requested by the college.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina are required.
  • A master's degree in nursing or current enrollment in a master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Two years of full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse are required.
  • Preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, or willingness to seek continuing education as required by the NC Board of Nursing upon employment is required.
  • Community college or post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
