Job Summary

Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in the diagnostic imaging process, working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Christus Health, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of imaging procedures, from routine to advanced, and providing support to other imaging technologists as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Utilize proper technique to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, some of which may be complex in nature, and provide clear procedural instructions to patients.
  • Evaluate Patient Clinical History: Assess patients for clinical contrast history and potential contraindications before performing procedures.
  • Adhere to Established Protocols: Follow established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Interact with Patients and Care Providers: Coordinate and prioritize procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
  • Rotate within Departments and Clinics: Possess the ability and willingness to rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage.
  • Assist Radiologists and Medical Professionals: Assist radiologists and other medical professionals in invasive and fluoroscopic procedures using equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Ensure Exam Rooms are Clean and Stocked: Ensure exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked prior to exams being performed and maintain compliance with Infection Control standards.
  • Accurately Code and Enter Charges: Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered.
  • Adapt to Patient Needs: Appropriately adapt to assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Perform all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
  • Demonstrate Core Values: Demonstrate adherence to the Core values of CHRISTUS Health Care.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a hospital preferred.
  • Certifications: Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required, current state licensure required, and current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
