Position Summary

The Professional Development Specialist (Nursing) plays a pivotal role in inspiring professional nurses through human connections, innovation, and experiential learning. This role utilizes evidence-based practice to advance the mission of Vidant Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate core curricula for nursing education.
  • Lead experiential learning activities through innovative teaching and learning methods.
  • Validate clinical performance and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Establish effective communication networks with unit and organization leadership.
  • Create a supportive environment for nursing research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Disseminate research findings through educational programs and other activities.
  • Facilitate orientation processes, nurse residency programs, and role transitions.
Requirements
  • MSN in Nursing Education or MSN with Postmasters Certificate in Education is required.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification within 3 years.
  • 3-5 years of clinical practice experience with evidence of clinical knowledge, leadership, and teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Adult Critical Care.
