Job Summary

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team in a Labor and Delivery setting. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will have the opportunity to work with mothers during antepartum, labor, recovery, and postpartum care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Mother and Fetus Vital Signs: You will be responsible for monitoring mother and fetus vital signs and reporting any signs or symptoms of possible complications.
  • Assist with Delivery: You will assist the MD with the delivery of the fetus.
  • Interpret EKG and Telemetry: You will interpret EKG and monitor patients on telemetry.
  • Report to Supervisor: You will report to the supervisor on the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess and Monitor Patients: You will assess and monitor patients throughout the labor process, identifying any complications that may arise.
  • Monitor Contractions and Breathing Techniques: You will monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques, monitoring patients on telemetry.
  • Perform Basic IV and Central Line Skills: You will perform basic IV and central line skills.
  • Perform Phlebotomy Skills: You will perform phlebotomy skills.
  • Knowledge of Hemodynamics: You will have knowledge of hemodynamics.
  • Administer Medication: You will administer pain medication as ordered and other medications to address specific medical conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes.
  • Take and Record Vital Signs: You will take and record patient's vital signs, ascertaining if there are any problematic signs.
  • Read Fetal Monitor: You will read fetal monitor and ascertain if there is a problem with the baby's heart rate.
  • Identify and Manage Life-Sustaining Functions: You will identify and manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients.
  • Check Patient's Cervix: You will check patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation.
  • Ensure Patient's Bed is Clean: You will ensure patient's bed is kept dry and clean, cleaning up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process.
  • Contact Anesthesia and Delivering Physician: You will contact anesthesia when the patient is ready for an epidural and contact the delivering physician at the appropriate time.
  • Care for Patients on Pitocin, MgSO4, and Continuous Lumbar Epidural: You will care for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4, and continuous lumbar epidural.
  • Ensure Patient is in Proper Position: You will ensure the patient is in the proper position for delivery and all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
  • Aid Doctor with Drapes, Gloves, and Gowns: You will aid the doctor with drapes, gloves, and gowns, handing the doctor delivery instruments as needed during the birthing process.
  • Assist MD in Operating Room: You will assist the MD in the operating room for C-Section, monitoring patients on telemetry.
  • Proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member: You will be proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member.
  • Immediate Care of Newborn: You will provide immediate care of the newborn, including cleaning, weighing, etc.
  • Give Apgar Scores: You will give Apgar scores.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program: You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Nursing License: You must have a current nursing license in good standing.
  • Minimum of One Year Labor and Delivery Experience: You must have a minimum of one year Labor and Delivery experience.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, Fetal Monitoring: You must have AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and Fetal Monitoring certifications.
