DaVita Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our outpatient dialysis centers.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in the healthcare industry and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. As a Patient Care Technician, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and be responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, and performing various technical duties.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vital signs and patient observations
  • Perform technical duties, such as setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, and mixing acid or bicarb
  • Build long-term relationships with patients and their families, providing education and support on kidney dialysis-related topics
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Comfort working around blood and needles
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical and mental ability to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed
