Job Summary

Tanner Memorial Clinic is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in magnetic resonance imaging and be able to operate MRI scanners with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient screenings to identify any contraindications for MRI procedures
  • Operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality images
  • Select the most appropriate imaging techniques and coils to achieve the desired results
  • Inspect images for quality and ensure they meet the required standards
  • Take brief medical histories from patients and position them correctly for imaging
  • Explain MRI procedures to patients and their representatives
  • Inject contrast dyes as needed and provide patients with headphones or earplugs for comfort
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • ARRT certification required; MRI certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in MRI preferred

Performance Expectations:

  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and proper use of IV access
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and practice standards related to MRI
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a clean environment
  • Ability to identify problems within the department and communicate effectively

Equipment Operated: Standard MRI equipment used for medical diagnosis

Work Environment: Exposure to infectious disease

Mental/Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds and position patients for imaging
