Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing goal-oriented therapeutic recreation activities, assessing motor skills, cognition, and social functioning, developing measurable treatment goals, and prioritizing and managing time effectively. You will also be required to supervise Mental Health Associates/Residential Instructors within groups and demonstrate empathy towards children and adolescents, knowledge of child growth and development, and skills in limit-setting. Furthermore, you will be expected to maintain a willingness to seek/accept supervision when needed.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited program, CRTS certification, and experience working with behaviorally disordered children and adolescents, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders or related developmental disabilities, are essential qualifications for this role. Additionally, you must possess physical endurance and stamina, be able to obtain lifeguard certification within one year of employment if necessary, and have a valid Georgia Driver's License.
