About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. As a key member of our Central Service department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care by processing and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and assemble surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with OR staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile products and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of processing and sterilization activities
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with AAMI standards
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; formal education through a Sterile Processing program preferred
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification within 1 year of hire
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
