Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Amtraco. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various machines and equipment to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
  • Measure parts dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from parts.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Verify conformance of finished part to specifications.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a culture of safety within the machine shop.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating machine shop equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in math and decimal places.
  • Knowledge in usage of gages, calipers, measuring tools, and clean sharp edges.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.
