Job Title: Fabrication Machine Operator - Laser

LayerZero Power Systems Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art power distribution solutions for critical applications. We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Machine Operator - Laser to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Machine Operator - Laser will be responsible for operating laser-based equipment to create products and parts, performing tests, and ensuring quality and safety in the workplace. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, organization, and motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate laser/punch combination machine for sheet metal production
  • Produce blanks and load/unload machine
  • Work with production engineering to pull nested programs for production
  • Separate, label, and catalog completed parts upon unload
  • Maintenance of machine, tools, and lenses
  • Daily start-up and shut-down procedure
  • Daily end-of-day clean-up of machine
  • Manage assist gas and schedule replenishment
  • Catalog and shelve remnants
  • Floor cleaning in surrounding area
  • Quality inspecting of parts and materials

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in operation of equipment required
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers
  • Ability to understand machine programs
  • Ability to modify machine programs
  • Ability to use PC for basic editing and logging

Preferred:

  • Experience with automation
  • Experience/knowledge of laser machines

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
