Job Title: Banquet Captain

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at Hilton Garden Inn/Home2 Suites Columbia Downtown. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of catered events, including planning, setup, execution, and breakdown.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the setup and service of events, ensuring that all details are met and exceeded.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, management, and colleagues to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Manage the inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for events.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure that all menu items are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Ensure that all events are executed in accordance with hotel and brand standards of service.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in banquet food service.
  • Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service.
  • Knowledge of various food service styles.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Certification in alcohol awareness program.
  • Good understanding of the English language.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
