**Job Summary**

Middleborough Public Schools seeks a highly skilled and dedicated School Health Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in promoting academic success and providing optimal nursing care to students and staff.

**About the Role**

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the School Nurse Leader, providing comprehensive school health services that meet the needs of our diverse student population. You will be responsible for assessing and addressing medical concerns, maintaining accurate health records, and collaborating with healthcare providers and school personnel to develop individualized health care plans.

**Responsibilities**

  • School Nursing Services: Provide assessment and medical care for students and staff as needed, while adhering to Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines and local school district policies.
  • Health Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive school health records, identifying significant health needs, and monitoring immunization and physical examination requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Develop and coordinate individual health care plans with healthcare providers and school personnel, while demonstrating effective communication skills with students, staff, parents, administrators, and physicians.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain certification for school nurses and uphold high standards of practice.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, particularly children and adolescents, and be knowledgeable about relevant laws and regulations.

**Compensation and Benefits**

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

**Additional Information**

Please note that this is a full-time position, and you will be required to work in all five school buildings, providing coverage to building-based nurses as directed. You may also be asked to provide nursing coverage on field trips and special events.
