This role is essential in providing support to patients within our Residential Treatment Facility throughout their recovery journey. The Patient Engagement Coordinator (PEC) plays a vital role in daily patient interaction by offering activity services, crisis intervention, and connecting with patients' diverse interests to enhance engagement. All interactions will be meticulously documented in the patients' electronic medical records (EMR). PECs guide patients towards appropriate behaviors, encourage active participation in treatment, and facilitate reflection on the benefits of their involvement in programming. They motivate patients to attend all group sessions, medical appointments, and clinical meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete EMR documentation during the designated shift in a clear and timely manner.
- Monitor patient behavior during group sessions, ensuring respectful participation and addressing any unexcused absences.
- Review the patient handbook and assist in orienting patients to the program.
- Facilitate educational and support groups for patients.
- Assist in transporting PHP patients to off-site activities.
- Provide individual support to detox patients through daily meetings, reviewing programming requirements, and offering concierge services to enhance engagement.
- Support the clinical team in planning and executing all engagement activities throughout the month.
- Document weekly the number of patients engaged, noting those who left against medical advice (AMA) and those successfully retained in treatment.
- Deliver services based on specific skill sets to engage patients, such as physical fitness, arts, music, or gardening.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to adapt to the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Understanding of the organization's mission and culture, with the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients.
- Previous experience with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders is preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon a clear drug screening and criminal history check.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift supplies up to 25 lbs. to waist height.
- Must be able to navigate up to three flights of stairs throughout a typical workday.
- Relevant skill set or certification based on the facility's needs.
- Satisfactory drug screen and background check.
The salary for selected candidates will be determined based on various factors, including experience, education, specialty, and training.
