Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in energy, sustainability, or a related field, with a focus on energy management and sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing clients' energy and sustainability needs and goals, developing near-term and long-term solutions, and creating reports and other materials that effectively communicate the desired approaches to the clients' stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain direct client relationships and manage client requests with professionalism and attention.
  • Work on and manage time between a variety of technical tasks, including maintaining client/stakeholder relationships, and managing and participating in team tasks such as project site assessments, energy audits, engineering analysis, cost estimating, and production of interim and final deliverables.
  • Manage projects, including all technical aspects of planning, scoping, budgeting, scheduling, deciding technical approach, delegation of tasks, ensuring technical quality, overseeing implementation, and tracking results.
  • Support new business development for work of this type.
  • Train and mentor junior engineering staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6-8 years' experience in energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, and/or facilities energy management and sustainability planning.
  • Understanding of energy conservation, electrification, and decarbonization principles and calculation techniques.
  • Ability to develop client/client-stakeholder facing energy and sustainability planning reports and other presentation materials.
  • Ability to lead, delegate, coordinate, and track project team tasks, including senior level subject matter experts, and junior engineers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed energy resources such as solar, wind, battery energy storage, and cogeneration systems and their related infrastructure.
  • Experience with building systems including HVAC equipment and mechanical/electrical systems, lighting technologies, building automation and control systems, and process loads such as refrigeration and data center infrastructure.
  • Experience conducting facility energy and carbon impact assessments and data collection.
  • Professional Engineer license and/or applicable certifications.
