Key Responsibilities:- Provide in-depth, individual assistance for mothers and families experiencing routine or complex circumstances associated with lactation and breastfeeding.
- Encourage the support of breastfeeding through patient consultation, staff education, and implementation of current, evidence-based breastfeeding policies and procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance of current breastfeeding reference materials as a resource for the healthcare team.
- Participate in data collection and subsequent program development and implementation that improves outcomes for breastfeeding women and infants.
- Develop breastfeeding guidelines, protocols, and patient education materials to ensure they are informed upon discharge.
- RD, RN) in the state of Utah or equivalent education in a related field (i.e. certified lactation educator).
- One year experience in lactation consulting/education required.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
