Ascension is seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team. As a Radiology Tech, you will be responsible for taking radiologic films and providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. You will also prepare and position patients for imaging, select exposure factors, administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal guidelines, and monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinement as warranted. Additionally, you will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, ensure equipment is properly functioning, and report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department.
Responsibilities:
Take radiologic films and provide quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors.
Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal guidelines.
Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinement as warranted.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department.
Requirements:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
One or more of the following required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer, Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer, or Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
