Speech Therapy Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students with speech and language challenges in the Woodbridge, VA region. This full-time, full-year role offers a valuable opportunity to positively impact students' educational experiences in a school setting.
About the RoleThis is an excellent chance to work closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the SLP to execute therapy plans, including conducting individual and group sessions. Additionally, they will track and record students' progress, providing detailed reports to the SLP.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver speech and language therapy services.
- Execute therapy plans prepared by the SLP, including conducting both individual and group sessions.
- Track and record students' progress and provide detailed reports to the SLP.
- Help create and prepare instructional materials and activities.
- Assist students in improving their communication skills within classroom and individual settings.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
- Maintain confidential and accurate records as per school and district guidelines.
- An Associate's degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
- A valid SLPA license in the state of Virginia.
- Experience in a school environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
- A strong dedication to providing high-quality support for students.
This full-time position comes with a competitive hourly wage based on experience and credentials, ranging from $35 to $45 per hour. The contract duration aligns with the academic calendar, ensuring stability and predictability throughout the year.
