We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our community at Five Star Quality Care, Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Provide High-Quality Care
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Support residents with medication administration, including opening containers, reading labels, and observing residents taking medication
- Reposition residents in bed and escort them around the community
- Provide toileting and incontinent care
- Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse
- Communicate Effectively
- Observe and report on residents' health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectively
- Detail daily reports to the Nurse or designated charge person at the end of the shift
- Provide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved ones
- Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and report to a supervisor
- Meet the Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- Associates degree or higher, focused on advancement into medical services, or similar, preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification desired (unless required by the State)
- Valid, unrestricted LPN certification or State/Local equivalent required
- Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish
- Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills
- Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with residents
