About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Carte Hotel San Diego Downtown, Curio Collection by Hilton. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas to maintain a clutter-free workspace.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Stock supplies, such as food and utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
  • Sweep and wash floors, and clean trash cans to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Perform food preparation functions in the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous stewarding experience required or equivalent training.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, and reach.
