Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the accounting and financial reporting functions within our finance department. This role will involve managing daily banking activities, assisting with accounts payable tasks, and supporting the month-end close process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily banking activity, including recording and reconciling transactions on online banking platforms.
  • Prepare bank deposits and ensure the accuracy of non-patient deposits and credits; reconcile to financial systems.
  • Support the month-end financial close process by preparing journal entries, financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual company documents, such as Unclaimed Property records and Business Privilege Tax filings.
  • Review aged invoices, supplier statements, and discrepancies in collaboration with Accounts Payable representatives.
  • Identify and optimize process improvements, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Maintain records for lease accounting.
  • Assist with special accounting-related projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree with at least one year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively in group settings.

Math Ability:

  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms and to deal with problems involving multiple variables.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software products, including the Laboratory Information System.
