Airbus Americas is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Mobile, AL. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and general maintenance in various areas of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks such as repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc.
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture.
  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
  • Use drywall 'mud', plaster/compound, and spackle to patch minor holes/cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
  • Reconfigure, install, and adjust office modular furniture and work spaces.
  • Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on building infrastructure and/or building systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues to resolve vital repairs.
  • Inspect and repair damaged interior infrastructure surfaces as needed.
  • Perform general maintenance on doors, door closers, and related equipment as assigned.
  • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Proactively inspect and identify areas in need of repair.
  • General locksmith repairs and key control.
  • Respond to work requests in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all health and safety precautions.

Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned will be required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of general maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to assist with office moves that require breaking down, moving, and reassembling furniture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to set up and take down ladders and use fall protection as required by job tasks.
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assists others as part of the maintenance team as required, and performs other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% Domestic and International.
