Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laborer II to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of custodial and cafeteria materials and supplies to our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics and Inventory Management: Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment in the shipping and receiving areas as directed.
  • Vehicle Operations: Inspect, service, and operate delivery trucks, other system-owned vehicles as assigned.
  • Inventory Control: Enter and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment for schools as requested.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare monthly reports, file reports, and answer phone calls as directed.
  • Supply Chain Management: Receive, inventory, label, stock, pack, and deliver textbooks as assigned.
  • Supply Receipt and Shipping: Receive and ship supplies as requested.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or sufficient education and experience to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience: Verified proof of successful work experience in the area of logistics is preferred.
  • Driver's License: Possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license and MPS insurable driving record required.
  • Background Check: Subject to drug screening within Board policy.
